The NYP Document

T he National Youth Policy (NYP) document was drafted by the Youth Forum member organizations, consolidated and validated nationally with the support of the United Nations Youth Task Force in Lebanon, presented to the Ministry of Youth& Sports, and then endorsed by the Lebanese Council of Ministers on April 3rd, 2012. It is a bottom up model of youth participation i.e. from youth to the government.
Below is the NYP document: the blue version addresses decision makers, while the smaller white version is more youth friendly.
The NYP document consists of 136 policy recommendations that are categorized into the following 5 sectors: demographic characteristics and immigration, labor and economic participation, education and culture, health, social inclusion and political participation.
The NYP is the declaration of the State of its commitment to youth issues. It is a vision of the steps the government intends to take with the aim to improve living conditions of youth, including welfare services and youth access to decision making positions in the public life.
